The biggest difference between the two is that the latter's raw materials and colors cannot be chosen according to their own preferences, as cement stone tiles are cut in advance, and if the paving area is relatively small, you can choose terrazzo tiles, which are cost-effective and convenient. When pouring on-site, it is important to note that

Terrazzo types

① epoxy terrazzo: made of epoxy resin and gravel mix, more variable color and high value, but slightly more expensive.

② Cement Terrazzo: the most traditional practice, using cement as a bonding agent, cost-effective and more durable, but not as good as the former.

To sum up, if you want good value, choose epoxy resin; if you want good value for money, choose cement.

Quality Control

We classify it into 3 grades:
Grade A: few pink hairlines & 1-3 crystallines with a width less than 2mm per piece;
Grade B: a few pink hairlines & 1-3 crystallines with width between 2-5mm per piece;
Grade C: a few pink hairlines & some crystallines with all different widths.
So the qualities will be like these:
1st choice ... All grade A pieces, some pieces may not have pink hairlines but normally have crystal lines;
commercial choice ... with both grade A & grade B;
Low quality ... with different qualities mainly for Mid-East market, certainly will have some bad pieces not accepted.

Packing and Loading about Terrazzo Slab

A. 10mm-1.2mm tiles -- pack tiles in a paper box, then put boxes in a fumigated seaworthy wooden crate.
B. 15mm and up tiles -- packed in a fumigated seaworthy wooden crate with formed plastic inside.
C. Slabs -- will be packed by wooden bundles with polished face to face.
